It was wonderful to have our Māori Legal Team spend an evening with clients as part of our centenary celebrations on November 7th.

On Saturday, 12 October, we celebrated our 100th year serving the Waikato with a beautiful dinner at Zealong Tea Estate. It was wonderful to raise a glass with our former and current leaders of the firm, together with representatives of the community we are so proud to serve.
Launch of '100 - Kotahi Rau - The McCaw Lewis Story 1919-2019'
On Friday, 11 October, the McCaw Lewis whānau launched '100 - Kotahi Rau - The McCaw Lewis Story 1919-2019'. The book celebrates the history of the firm and its people through the last 100 years, and looks to the future as we enter the next 100. The event was attended by current McCaw Lewis staff and former partners, along with the author of the book, Kingsley Field and others who put so much mahi into its creation.
Kylee Katipo Promoted to Associate

Congratulations to Melissa Gibson
The McCaw Lewis whānau would like to congratulate Melissa Gibson on her appointment as CEO of the Len Reynolds Trust, and it is with great aroha we announce she will be moving on from her role as a Director of McCaw Lewis. Melissa has been part of the McCaw Lewis team since joining as a Law Clerk in 2007. In 2015 she became a Director, leading the Asset Planning team. Melissa has made a significant contribution to the firm, with her passion for the wider community and giving back being a hallmark of her time with us. The Victoria Street entrance to our new building is now open and looking sharp. We were welcomed to the office by Fosters Construction this morning with coffee and pastries, the perfect way to celebrate!If you’re popping in to see us the entrance is at 586 Victoria Street, next to The Londoner pub, and our reception is on level 6.
Waikato National Secondary Schools Mooting Competition
It was a privilege to sponsor the Secondary Schools Mooting Competition again, hosted by the University of Waikato - Te Piringa Faculty of Law. Over 40 schools from around the country participated in the preliminary rounds over May and June, culminating in a final between the two top teams which was held on Friday night. The finalists this year were New Plymouth Boys' High School and Waikato Diocesan School for Girls. Each member of the winning team receives a $3000 scholarship towards tuition fees at Te Piringa – Faculty of Law, and all finalists have the opportunity to do two days’ work experience here at our McCaw Lewis offices. The teams were both exceptional, receiving praise from His Honour Judge JP Geoghegan and David M.Pink Ribbon Breakfast

McCaw Lewis supported Gumboot Friday 2019 a day early! Our team donned their favourite gumboots, enjoyed a ‘gumboot throw’ at lunchtime and made donations to support 'I am Hope'. 100% of money raised will go directly to support services, enabling children struggling with mental illness to receive the help they need.
